Child Car Seat Checks in Ceredigion
It’s Family Safety Week from 23 to 27 April and to raise awareness of safety issues involving child car seats, Ceredigion County Council’s Road Safety Team is promoting the free car-seat check service they provide to residents.
Kayleigh Tonkins, road safety project officer, said: “The Road Safety Team offer free child car seat checks across the county at various family centres, or for individuals who can travel to Aberaeron.
“We can demonstrate the safe fitting of your child’s car seat in your vehicle, and supply you with an in-depth guide to child car seats that gives advice on what seat is suitable for your child and the legalities.”
The law requires all children travelling in the front or rear seat of any car, van or goods vehicle must use the correct child car seat until they are either 135cm in height or 12 years old, whichever they reach first. After this they must use an adult seat belt.
You can make an appointment for the free child car seat check service by calling 01545 570881 or emailing clic@ceredigion.gov.uk.
