Revolutions is a one-day training course aimed at educating young drivers aged 15 to 25 years old in the Fatal 5 Road Safety message which includes:
- The importance of wearing a seatbelt
- The effects of drugs and alcohol when driving
- The effects of being distracted by other passengers
- The use of mobile phones and phone safety
- Speeding awareness
- Emergency First Aid
The experienced instructor uses an interactive Powerpoint presentation, immersive 360 virtual reality, case studies and practical modules to cater for all learning styles.

Drink driving is still an important priority for Gwent Police and last Friday, 7th June, the East Area Support Unit and local officers ran a specialist traffic operation to make the roads around Chepstow, Tintern and Caldicot a safer place.
During the eleven hour operation a total of 9 people were arrested, two vehicles were seized and three Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) were issued.

Tomorrow, Saturday 15 June, brings the much anticipated return of Cruz Cymru at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd. Now in its third year, this popular event is attracting a growing number of car and motorcycle clubs that have the event fixed in their annual calendar.
Hosted by Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Cruz Cymru runs from 11am-3pm and is FREE to attend; the day includes road safety partners as well as fire and rescue service personnel from all over Wales.
The attending clubs will be showcasing their impressive, pristine vehicles along with trade stands, competitions and a special appearance by Welsh rally driver Osian Pryce.

A comprehensive campaign to ensure residents of Newport are aware of the local authority taking on Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) is being hailed a success.
A variety of messages, using the #ParkRight tag, have been put up on Newport City Council’s social media channels including the website, Facebook and Twitter.
They all emphasise that motorists need to observe the rules of the Highway Code – and if everyone follows these then the city will be a safer place for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike.

A group of resident volunteers in Buckley, Flintshire have been recognised for their dedication to road safety and raising awareness of the dangers of speeding in the area through their speed watch work.
Since 2016 the Buckley Community Speed Watch team completed 359 speed watch sessions, put in a total of 2,111 hours between them in all weathers, recorded 5,517 vehicles at the roadside exceeding the speed limit and are responsible for 5,124 letters being sent to registered keepers.

Residents in Conwy and Denbighshire who own caravans or campervans are urged to take advantage of free weight checks and safety advice, to make sure they stay on the right side of the law.
Officers of Conwy Trading Standards, Denbighshire Trading Standards, and North Wales Police Community Safety section are offering free “Check Your Weight” sessions at the Weighbridge on the A525 between Rhuddlan and St Asaph on the following dates and times.
- 7 June – 12 noon – 4pm
- 21 June – 12 noon – 4pm
- 19 July – 9am – 1pm
- 2 August – 12 noon – 4pm
- 16 August – 12 noon – 4pm
People do not need to make an appointment, so can simply pop along between the listed times and dates to find out if their vehicles are within the legal weights. While there, they can chat about the security of their caravan or campervan with an officer of North Wales Police Community Safety Team.
